Simon Adingra, a young player from Côte d’Ivoire, looks back on the thrilling win in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final against Nigeria as a defining moment in his career.

At just 22 years old, Adingra played a crucial role in the victory, providing key assists for both goals and earning the prestigious TotalEnergies Man of the Match award.

His impressive performance on the flanks, marked by his mesmerizing dribbling, penetrating runs, and accurate crosses, proved to be too much for the Nigerian defense to handle throughout the match.

Looking back on the triumph, Adingra stressed the collective effort of his teammates in securing their nation’s third AFCON title.

“We achieved this together, and being crowned champions of Africa feels surreal,” said the Brighton & Hove Albion forward.

“It’s truly one of the most remarkable moments of my life, and it’s all thanks to the dedication and unity within our team,” he added.
