The head coach of Cote d’Ivoire, Emerse Faé, has emphasized the team’s determination to prepare thoroughly for the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament against Ivory Coast.
The Elephants secured their spot in the final after defeating DR Congo in a thrilling penalty shootout on Wednesday.
In his post-match interview, coach Emerse Faé stated that he will be relying on all 27 players to compete for the championship trophy.
Following their loss to Nigeria in the group stages, Ivory Coast is motivated to devise a strategy for facing the finalists in the upcoming match.
“If we want to win this competition, we will do it with all 27 players… I’ve been constantly reminding the players that everyone is significant, even those on the sidelines, and they have embraced this message,” Coach Faé remarked.
“In the next two days, we will assess Nigeria and analyze our previous encounter in the group stage. We will devise a strategic plan for the final,” Coach Faé added.
The highly-anticipated final between Nigeria and Ivory Coast is set to take place on Sunday, February 11.
