Ahead of the highly anticipated 2023 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash between Nigeria and Angola, Alex Iwobi, the midfielder for the Nigerian national team, has confidently asserted that the Super Eagles are prepared for the challenge.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday morning, Iwobi exuded confidence as he addressed the media, setting the stage for what promises to be an intense showdown.
With all eyes on the upcoming quarter-final duel, the midfielder acknowledged the expected toughness of the match but hinted at a strategic approach.
“It will be difficult, but we know how to defend well and I hope we do what it takes to reach the next stage,” he said.
“We have analyzed videos from Angola and we know where to exploit their weaknesses. The coach has already emphasized that it will be a tough match, and we are prepared to face it.”
“My role is to keep possession and support the team. We already have plenty of creativity in attack. I just aim to do what is best for the team, that’s all that matters,”
