Nigerian defender, Ola Aina, has expressed confidence in the Super Eagles’ preparation for their upcoming semi-final clash against South Africa in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Aina, speaking in a pre-match interview, emphasized that the team is focused on defeating the Bafana Bafana to secure a spot in the finals of the ongoing tournament in Ivory Coast.
According to the full-back, the team has been working hard to prepare for the crucial match. “Myself and my teammates are ready for this challenge. The coach is hard on us when he needs to be, and lenient when he needs to be – there’s a good balance to help us progress,” Aina said as reported by CAFOnline.
He stressed that the team’s sole focus is on the South Africa game and getting the job done. “It’s a massive match with so much at stake, including qualification for the 2023 AFCON final,” Aina added.
The highly anticipated game between Nigeria and South Africa is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 7th, with kick-off at 5 pm. The Super Eagles will look to put in a stellar performance against their opponents as they aim to advance to the final stage of the competition.
