Speaking to the media after their success in Abidjan, Broos commended his squad, particularly acknowledging the contributions of those players who supported their teammates from the bench.

“After the Nigeria match, I expressed my pride in this team, and today’s performance reaffirms why I hold them in such high regard. Despite fatigue, the mentality within this group is truly impressive,” remarked the elated coach.

“The players performed admirably, displaying exceptional mental strength and a willingness to execute the game plan. It’s evident that even when faced with challenges, we can rely on the entire squad, both on and off the pitch. I was pleased with the efforts of those on the field, but equally impressed by the support from the substitutes. This unity underscores our collective desire to win,” Broos concluded.
