Accra Great Olympics, a Ghana Premier League side, has announced the re-signing of midfielder Gladson Awako. Awako recently parted ways with rivals Accra Hearts of Oak SC, making this a significant move for both the player and the club.

At 33 years old, Awako brings a wealth of experience to his former club. He made headlines during his time with TP Mazembe and originally joined Accra Hearts of Oak SC in 2023. However, he has opted to return to Accra Great Olympics, a decision that has generated attention across the league.

Known for his skill on the field, Awako’s return is expected to bring experience and leadership to the team. As a former captain of the Black Galaxies and a representative of various national teams, including Ghana, Awako has demonstrated his talent both locally and internationally.

Currently, Accra Great Olympics holds the 12th position in the league standings, while their arch-rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak SC, are just one spot ahead in 11th place. The addition of Awako to their roster is expected to strengthen Great Olympics’ position and elevate their performance for the remainder of the season.
