2024 Olympic Games qualifiers: ‘They know we are not pushovers’ – Zambia coach Mwape ahead of Black Queens clash

Zambia coach Bruce Mwape has declared that his team is ready to face the Black Queens of Ghana in the 2024 Olympic Games penultimate qualifying round.

The two teams are scheduled to face each other on Friday, 23 February in Accra, with the return leg set to take place at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

Mwape emphasized that his team will not be pushovers in the upcoming matches against Ghana.

According to him, the Zambian team will approach the games cautiously and will not be deterred by the home support that Ghana will enjoy.

He also expressed confidence in the experience of his players, many of whom have previously participated in the Olympics and World Cup tournaments.

The coach revealed that the Zambian team has been in camp with 30 players, and they have been training without any reported injuries.

Reflecting on the previous encounter between the two teams, Mwape acknowledged that Ghana had given Zambia a tough time four years ago and emphasized that his team is fully aware of the challenge they will face.

Mwape concluded by stating that the Zambian team is prepared for the upcoming matches and is fully aware that the Black Queens are also preparing for the encounter, as they are not to be underestimated.
