2024 Olympic games qualifiers: No injury concerns in camp – Zambia coach Bruce Mwape ahead of Black Queens clash

Zambia coach Bruce Mwape has given an update on the injury status of his team ahead of their upcoming 2024 Olympic Games qualifier against the Black Queens of Ghana.

The Black Queens are set to host the Copper Queens of Zambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on February 23, 2024, before traveling for the reverse fixture at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on February 28, 2024. The winner of this two-legged tie will go on to face either Tunisia or Morocco in the final qualifying round.

In preparation for the crucial game, Bruce Mwape assured that his team has no injury concerns in camp. He emphasized the need for cautious play, acknowledging the difficulty of the upcoming match, with the home team enjoying the support of their fans.

Mwape highlighted the experience of his players, many of whom have participated in the Olympics and World Cup, as a key advantage in facing Ghana. He mentioned that the 30 players in the camp began training on Wednesday without any injury setbacks.

The coach acknowledged the challenging nature of the upcoming games, recalling a tough encounter against the Black Queens four years ago. He stressed that his team’s experience in big competitions will be beneficial, while also recognizing the preparations being made by Ghana for the upcoming matches.

As the two teams gear up to face each other, the stage is set for an exciting and closely-fought battle between the Black Queens and the Copper Queens.
