Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has expressed admiration for Angola striker Mabululu following his stunning goal against Namibia in the round of 16 of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Mabululu, who plays for Al Ittihad, scored a fantastic goal to secure victory for Angola in the highly-anticipated match on Saturday evening.
The forward displayed his exceptional skills by bending a precise shot from a difficult angle into the far corner during a counter-attack as Angola secured a commanding 3-0 win.
Despite his own history of spectacular goals, the former Ghana international took to social media to commend Mabululu’s outstanding strike against Namibia.
He wrote, “This is my kind of goal. There have been some great goals in the tournament, but this one is my favorite. Just look at how he was able to twist and find the net from that angle. I’m loving it. A great goal by all measures.”
Angola has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Cup of Nations and will face Nigeria, who emerged victorious with a 2-0 win over Cameroon in the round of 16 on Saturday.
