The 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season is set to restart on Saturday, February 24, for the second-round action after a break following the conclusion of the first round.
The hiatus allowed football fans to shift their focus to the Black Stars during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament. Now that the continental showpiece has come to an end, the Ghana Football Association has officially announced the resumption of the league on February 24.
In the first matchday of the second round, league leaders Samartex FC will be on the road to Dormaa to take on Aduana Stars.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will also be making the trip to Kpando to face off with Heart of Lions. Other fixtures include Hearts of Oak taking on Real Tamale United, and Accra Lions hosting Medeama Sporting Club.
The official announcement of the resumption of the league was also made on Twitter by the Ghana Premier League official account, which highlighted the fixtures for Matchweek 18, with Heart of Lions FC hosting Asante Kotoko SC at the Kpando Sports Stadium as the headline game.
The Ghana Premier League is expected to pick up right where it left off, with teams eager to continue their fight for the title. Stay tuned for an exciting second half of the season.
