Hip-hop star and TikTok sensation Cat Janice has sadly passed away at the age of 31 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Her family announced the heartbreaking news through an emotional Instagram post on her account on Wednesday.
In a touching message, her family stated, “This morning, from her childhood home and surrounded by her loving family, Catherine peacefully entered the light and love of her heavenly creator.
“We are eternally thankful for the outpouring of love that Catherine and our family have received over the past few months.”
The family continued, “Cat saw her music go places she never expected and rests in the peace of knowing that she will continue to provide for her son through her music.
“This would not have been possible without all of you.”
Cat Janice rose to fame by bravely sharing her cancer journey on social media platforms like TikTok while also pursuing her passion for creating music.
Originally from Washington, DC, the talented musician, born Catherine Janice Ipsan, leaves behind a legacy of inspirational music and a devoted 7-year-old son named Loren who was her source of motivation.
In December 2023, she tied the knot with her long-time partner and fellow musician Footwerk, also known as Kyle Higginbotham.
Her website reveals that Cat was brought up in a musical family and began her musical journey playing violin and piano, eventually branching out into various musical genres.
