Condolences are pouring in after the sudden death of Alice Stewart, former adviser to Texas Senator Ted Cruz and CNN political commentator, who passed away on Saturday morning in a Virginia neighborhood.

Stewart, 58, who worked for Senator Cruz during his 2016 GOP campaign, is believed to have suffered a medical emergency, but the official cause of death has not been determined, and foul play is not suspected.

Stewart joined CNN before the 2016 presidential election and was active within the network until her untimely death. She posted a photo on social media hours before she passed, announcing her latest CNN appearance.
