A beloved former news anchor from an ABC affiliate has passed away following a brave battle with a serious illness.
Tanya Spencer, the former WRTV anchor, died at the age of 53.

In her final Facebook post, Spencer reflected on the value of time and good health, emphasizing their significance in life.

During her health battle, Spencer revealed her genetic mutation, Kras G12c, which led to an aggressive and fast-growing form of cancer.
Despite undergoing chemo treatments and cancer-fighting medications, the cancer continued to spread, posing a significant challenge to the former news anchor.
Throughout her journey, Spencer became an advocate for health awareness, stressing the importance of colonoscopy screenings, especially after her delayed diagnosis due to evolving screening guidelines.
