Starting his bodybuilding journey at the age of 16, Serra competed in over 90 contests, achieving significant victories such as Mr World IBFA in Rome in 2011 and Mr Universe IBFA in the 40-plus category in 2014. Additionally, he was crowned the Musclebeach Champion in Venice, California, the same year.
Following his inspiring recovery from cancer, Serra continued to excel in bodybuilding, clinching the title of champion at the Hercules Olympia contest in Tenerife last year.
