Police detain one suspect in connection with Jirapa ‘Dubai’ owner’s murder

The Ghana Police Service has reported that one person has been arrested in connection with the murder of the owner of the safari resort in Jirapa in the Upper West Region, popularly known as “Jirapa Dubai”.

The arrest followed an investigation by the Regional Crime Scene Management Team, which was initiated upon their visit to the site of the incident.

It has been revealed that Mr. Eric Johnson was found lying in a pool of blood at his private residence on Sunday, February 11. The Inspector-General of Police has deployed a team of investigators and experts to work with the Upper West Regional Police Command to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident.

Earlier reports had indicated that Mr. Johnson was murdered by some assailants. In response, a journalist in the region, Mornah Banung-kae Kennedy, described the situation as sad.

The police statement confirmed that the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood in one of the rooms at the hotel. The Regional Crime Scene Management Team has visited the scene of the incident and one person has been detained to assist in the investigation.

The police are taking the matter very seriously and are committed to getting to the bottom of what led to this tragic incident.
