The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) recently issued an apology to passengers at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) for the disruptions caused by intermittent power outages on Friday, March 1. According to a press release shared on social media, the generators at KIA failed to kick-start a few seconds after the power disruption. The GACL management expressed regret for any inconvenience experienced by passengers as a result of the incident.

In the statement released by GACL, they confirmed the occurrence of intermittent power outages at Kotoka International Airport on the specified date. The generators at the airport, which are designed to kick-start within 3-5 seconds of a power outage, took approximately 1 minute and 30 seconds to resume operation. GACL reiterated their apology for the inconvenience caused to passengers due to the delayed response of the generators.

The incident highlights the importance of reliable power supply systems in critical infrastructure such as airports to ensure seamless operations and minimal disruptions for passengers. GACL’s swift acknowledgment of the issue and their apology demonstrate their commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery at Kotoka International Airport.

The GACL’s apology serves as a reminder of the vital role of robust infrastructure and operational systems in ensuring optimal passenger experiences at airports. It also underscores the need for continuous monitoring and improvements to mitigate potential disruptions and enhance the overall efficiency of airport operations.
