Ghana’s Upper West Region was shaken by the news of the murder of Mr. Eric Johnson, the owner of the Royal Cosy Hills Hotel.

Contrary to initial reports suggesting that Johnson was found murdered in one of the hotel’s rooms, exclusive details from sources close to the family and workers at the facility have revealed that he was actually found dead in his private residence, which shares a boundary with the hotel.

Sources indicated that the murder took place before 1:30 am, as Johnson’s stolen vehicle was driven out of his residence around that time. It was also revealed that the assailant(s) used a ladder to climb over the wall and gained access to Johnson’s room using a master card. Johnson, who is believed to have finished taking a bath before the attack, was found in his towel on the floor with deep wounds on his body, suspected to have been inflicted by his killer, suggesting a violent struggle.

Additionally, his car key was stolen, and his personal car was driven out of the compound, only to be found abandoned in town. Shockingly, the security personnel at the residence opened the gate for the ‘driver’ of the car after he drove to the entrance and honked, assuming it was Johnson behind the wheel.

In light of these developments, one person has been detained by the police to assist with the investigation, and the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Upper West Regional Hospital morgue.

As the police continues to dig into the details surrounding this brutal murder, the community is left reeling from the loss of Johnson and seeking answers to this heinous crime.
