The outgoing Member of Parliament for Kpando, Della Sowah, has demonstrated her dedication to enhancing the economic prospects of her constituents through skills development.
With high youth unemployment in the Kpando Constituency, Sowah’s team has implemented various programs to engage the youth in skills development.
One such program was the Kpando Sewing Contest, which saw 30 amateur fashion designers from the constituency participating. The winner of the competition was awarded with a knitting machine and a modern electric industrial machine. Additionally, 18 sewing machines of various kinds were distributed to deserving contestants to support their fashion and design ventures.
Sowah also announced plans for other innovative programs, including “Kpando’s Most Strongest,” “Fathers’ Cooking Competition,” and “Choral Competition” to further promote skills development and showbiz in the constituency.
The competition winners shared their experience, encouraging their colleagues to engage in skill training to improve their livelihoods. Atubra Rebecca, the ultimate winner, expressed her newfound confidence and motivation, while the first runner-up, Eyram Ofori, urged others to pursue a trade or skill to support themselves and their families.
Sowah’s efforts in enhancing human capacity building in the Kpando Constituency are commendable and provide a vital support system for the economic growth of the community.
