The Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampam constituency, Sam George, has accused Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of making empty promises just to secure power, with no intention of following through.
George claims that President Akufo-Addo no longer trusts Bawumia’s opinion and has overruled him on numerous issues.
Furthermore, George argues that Bawumia’s promise to reduce the number of ministers in government to 50 is not credible, asserting that Bawumia is merely saying things to win power.
The MP also criticized Akufo-Addo for what he sees as a lack of concern for critical national issues, pointing to the recent ministerial reshuffle as evidence.
George argues that the reshuffle was aimed at ensuring the survival of the NPP rather than effectively governing the country, especially given the timing of the decision.
In addition, he criticized the selection of new appointees, claiming that many of them are not subject-area specialists.
George believes that the President’s appointments are more about political survival than effective governance.
These claims raise questions about Bawumia’s trustworthiness and the credibility of the NPP government.
