The Member of Parliament for Jirapa Constituency, Cletus Seidu Dapilah, has accused Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of doing the opposite of what he criticized when he was in opposition. Mr. Dapilah claims that Dr. Bawumia is finding ways to exploit the rules to benefit himself or the government when discussions arise regarding the government doing the opposite of what they criticized. He pointed out that under Dr. Bawumia, inflation has soared to an unprecedented 54%, which has never happened before in the history of the Fourth Republic.
Mr. Dapilah also mentioned that the dollar went to even 18 Ghana cedis and 15 Ghana cedis under Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and fuel prices were skyrocketing. He criticized the Vice President for now trying to accept the positives after running from the minuses in the government.
However, the NPP MP for Anyaa-Sowutuom constituency, Dr. Adomako Kissi, disagreed with Mr. Dapilah’s accusations. He emphasized that not all of Dr. Bawumia’s recommendations were taken into consideration, and he believes that Dr. Bawumia is more capable of handling the country if given the chance.
The debate over Dr. Bawumia’s performance and actions continues to be a topic of discussion, with contrasting opinions from different political figures.
