President Akufo-Addo has acknowledged and congratulated the winners of the New Patriotic Party’s recently concluded parliamentary primaries in constituencies where the party currently holds the seat.
Following the announcement on Sunday, January 28, the President commended the elected parliamentary candidates, hailing them as a “good blend of experienced and youthful parliamentary candidates.”
President Akufo-Addo expressed his confidence in the elected candidates’ ability to help secure a majority for the NPP in the 9th Parliament of the 4th Republic and to return the NPP presidential candidate into office on January 7, 2025.
In his address, President Akufo-Addo extended warm congratulations to the party’s rank and file and also commended all stakeholders – including the national, regional, constituency, electoral area, and polling station executives of the party, the Electoral Commission, the security services, and the media – for their outstanding efforts.
President Akufo-Addo called on those who did not emerge victorious in the election to throw their support behind the winners, emphasizing that “today’s losers can be tomorrow’s winners” in line with the party’s tradition.
President Akufo-Addo also highlighted the importance of unity within the party in order to achieve the goal of “Breaking the Eight” and encouraged party members to rally behind the presidential candidate and the parliamentary candidates for a resounding victory in the 2024 elections.
He concluded by urging everyone to conduct themselves responsibly, strengthen the party’s organization, and work towards winning the 2024 elections.
