Residents of Afienya-New Jerusalem in the Ningo-Prampram District of the Greater Accra Region are voicing their frustration and anger over the poor state of the road network in the area.

The untarred road network is dusty and full of deep trenches, making it impassable, especially when it rains.

According to Mr. John Adjei, a resident of the area, the road has deteriorated over the years and the situation is further worsened by the heavy tipper trucks that frequently ply the road.

Despite numerous complaints made to the Ningo-Prampram District Assembly, residents are yet to see any significant action taken to address the situation, Mr. Adjei lamented in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA).

Madam Mary Awuni, a resident operating a provision shop along the road, shared that apart from the difficult navigation challenges, she constantly has to deal with heavy dust deposits on her wares and sometimes incurs losses during the rainy seasons due to flooding in the area.

Mr. Kwesi Asiedu, a taxi driver, also highlighted the impact of the road on drivers, sharing that they must constantly change their vehicle parts due to the nature of the road.
