Gospel singer Nacee, known in private life as Nana Kwaku Osei, is confident that the Telecel Ghana Music Awards will attract more attention and publicity if he wins the Artist of the Year category. In an interview on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning, the ‘Aseda’ hitmaker expressed his belief that his victory would bring a fresh perspective to the event.
Nacee pointed out that while his competitors have had their chances to shine in previous editions, his win would be a game-changer for the awards show. “The Ghana Music Awards will have more exposure if I win Artist of the Year because it would be unexpected. Any of my contenders winning is not news, but Nacee winning Artist of the Year is where the story lies,” he said.
The talented musician also revealed a prophecy he received about giving an interview to the BBC after receiving the award. He sees this as an opportunity to mention Charter House, the organizers of the event, and further enhance the event’s publicity.
Nacee’s unwavering faith in his abilities stems from his conviction that he was born for greatness, as stated in the scriptures. He believes that claiming the award with faith will lead him to victory.
Although nominated for four categories in this year’s TGMA, including Gospel Artist of the Year and Artist of the year, Nacee remains humble in his expectations. He acknowledges the worthiness of all the categories and hopes to emerge victorious in each of them.
While confident in his abilities, Nacee also acknowledges that losing out on the award will not be the end of his career. He remains optimistic about his chances but is prepared to accept whatever outcome comes his way.
Competing against industry heavyweights like King Promise, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Kuami Eugene, and the 2023 winner Black Sherif for the Artist of the Year title, Nacee is gearing up for a tough competition. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 1 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
With Nacee’s strong faith, talent, and determination, the Artist of the Year title at the TGMA is up for grabs, and only time will tell if he will emerge victorious.
