The African Games, organized by the African Union, bring together elite athletes from fifty-five countries across the continent every four years. This year’s edition featured 5000 athletes and coaches competing in twenty-nine sports disciplines, with the closing ceremony serving as an official qualifier for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The African Games highlight athletic talent, promote African cultural values, and encourage solidarity and integration among African nations. The event also plays a significant role in fostering social cohesion and peace within the continent.
