Stonebwoy dominates 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards with 11 nods

The 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) nominations were revealed yesterday, and Stonebwoy leads the way with an impressive eleven nominations.

Stonebwoy received nominations in prestigious categories such as Artiste of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste, Record of the Year for “Manodzi,” and Album/EP of the Year for “5th Dimension.”

He also secured nominations for Most Popular Song (“Into the Future”), International Collaboration of the Year (“Manodzi” featuring Angelique Kidjo), Best Reggae Song (“Non-Stop”), Best Music Video (“Manodzi”), Best Afropop Song (“Into the Future”), and Best Highlife Song (“Manodzi”).

Sarkodie, a renowned rapper, also received his ninth nomination for Artiste of the Year, looking to secure his third win in the category. His nominations also include International Collaboration of the Year (“Till We Die” featuring Ruger), Best Rap Performance (“Otan”), and Most Popular Song (“Otan”).

King Promise, after a successful 2023, earned five nominations, including Artiste of the Year, Most Popular Song, Best Afrobeat/Afropop Artiste, Best Afropop Song, and International Collaboration of the Year.

The competition for the Artiste of the Year title is fierce, with artists like Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Black Sherif, Nacee, and Kuami Eugene vying for the honor.

In the New Artiste of the Year category, talents like King Paluta, Maya Blu, DSL, Banzy Banero, Olivetheboy, and Oseikrom Sikanii are in contention, with King Paluta standing out as a strong contender.

In the gospel genre, artists like Nacee, Diana Hamilton, Joyce Blessing, Mabel Okyere, Perez Musik, Piesie Esther, Joe Mettle, and Scott Evans are competing for Best Gospel Artiste of the Year.

The 25th anniversary launch and nomination announcement were celebrated with captivating performances from artists like Nat Brew, Piesie Esther, Celestine Donkor, Olivetheboy, Banzy Banero, Boasiako, and Fra.
