Renowned Ghanaian musician, Okyeame Kwame, has unveiled the reason behind his choice of Kofi Kinaata for his latest song, ‘Sika’.
Okyeame Kwame expressed his admiration for Kofi Kinaata’s creativity and talent, stating that he has always wanted to collaborate with him.
The veteran rapper highlighted Kofi Kinaata’s impressive track record, mentioning that he held the title of Songwriter of the Year twice before Kinaata claimed the prize three times.
Describing Kinaata as a skilled writer, Okyeame Kwame shared, “I wanted to know what is in that head, and I called him for us to do a song together, and during the recording sessions, I realised why he is a great writer, ‘the boy get common sense period’. Very intelligent, very smart, he has learnt the trick and the trade.”
Okyeame Kwame emphasized the significance of collaborating with Kofi Kinaata, stating, “it’s a big opportunity for me to do a song with Kinaata whom I admire so much”.
Speaking about the theme of the song ‘Sika’, he explained that it aims to motivate individuals to work hard to secure a better future for themselves.
“It is who I have become currently, most of the things I do is to seek to bring out difficult times and triumphant moments, from poverty to riches,” the Rap Dacta said.
The song is now available on all digital platforms.
