Ghanaian musician Mr. Drew expressed his disappointment at losing the Collaboration of the Year award to KiDi at last year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
In an interview with Hitz FM, Mr. Drew stated that he felt like he deserved to win the award for his song ‘Case Remix’ featuring Mophty, considering the popularity and impact of the song.
Despite his initial disappointment, Mr. Drew emphasized that he holds no grudge against KiDi and their relationship remains intact. He referred to KiDi as his brother and stated that they are on good terms.
The Collaboration of the Year category also featured nominees such as ‘Lonely Road’ by O’Kenneth, Xlimkid, Twatis by Oseikrom Sikani featuring Kweku Smoke, and ‘Kwaku Ananse Remix’ by Amerado featuring Fameye. KiDi’s ‘Likor’ featuring Stonebwoy emerged as the winner.
Looking ahead to this year’s TGMA, Mr. Drew revealed that he has submitted nominations in the Afrobeats Artiste of the Year and Afrobeats Song of the Year categories.
