Tiwa Savage, a renowned Nigerian singer, recently disclosed in an interview on Cool FM how she initially disliked two of her hit songs that were recommended by her then-manager.
The singer revealed that the songs “Eminado” and “Dorobucci” were not to her liking at first.
During the interview, Tiwa Savage mentioned that despite her disapproval of the songs, her manager, Don Jazzy, insisted on including them in her album.
According to her, Don Jazzy believed that the songs catered to what the Nigerian audience wanted, and he was proven right when the songs became huge successes after their release.
Tiwa Savage shared, “I hated Eminado when I first heard it. Don Jazzy played it for me; I was like, I don’t like it, and he said it’s going on my album, and I said no.” She further added, “I did not like Dorobucci either; everybody loved it.”
Despite her initial reservations, Tiwa Savage admitted that she now performs the songs at every opportunity because of the overwhelmingly positive response they received.
The singer also highlighted how her perception of the songs changed once they were embraced by fans, proving Don Jazzy’s instincts right.
