The Head of Public Events and Communications for Charter House, Robert Klah, has confirmed that rapper and singer Amerado’s team has made contact with the organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) after being snubbed for a nomination.
The issue arose when Amerado questioned why his hit song, ‘Kweku Ananse’, was not nominated in any category during the unveiling of the nominee categories on March 28. He specifically pointed out that the original version of the song was overlooked, while the remix featuring Fameye earned a spot in the Best Collaboration category.
Taking to social media to express his concerns, Amerado tweeted, “Dear @GHMusicAwards, Why was Kwaku Ananse (original) not nominated?”
In response to Amerado’s query, Robert Klah praised the rapper and his team for reaching out to the award scheme organizers to address the issue. He mentioned that Amerado’s team had submitted a petition and that the TGMA board has opened a one-week window for “errors and omissions” to be reviewed.
“They have submitted their petition and I am sure the board will sit on that together with all the submissions received. They [Amerado and his team] are taking advantage of the one-week window,” stated Robert Klah.
