The 25th annual Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) took place on Saturday, June 1, 2024, and was organized by Charterhouse.
The event, known for its prestige in the music industry, was a major success, with dancehall artiste Stonebwoy taking home the most coveted award of the evening.
One of the standout moments of the night was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to legendary Highlife Artiste, Amakye Dede, in recognition of his significant contributions to the music industry.
The event was a star-studded affair, with attendees dressed to the nines and enjoying high-energy performances from a lineup of talented artists throughout the evening.
The awards ceremony included a range of categories, with winners being announced for awards such as Artiste of the Year, Best Gospel Song, Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste, and many more.
Stonebwoy emerged as a big winner of the night, taking home multiple awards for categories such as Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste and Song of the Year for his track “Manodzi” featuring Angelique Kidjo.
Other notable winners included Kuami Eugene for Best Highlife Artiste of the Year, Strongman for Best Rap Performance, and King Promise for Collaboration of the Year with his song “Liquor” featuring Stonebwoy.
The event also honored up-and-coming talent with the award for Best New Artist going to King Paluta, while veteran performers like Burna Boy and Davido were recognized in the African Artiste of the Year category.
Overall, the 25th edition of the TGMA was a celebration of the diversity and talent within the Ghanaian music industry, showcasing both established stars and rising newcomers. The event served as a reminder of the power of music to unite and inspire audiences across the country.
