Renowned Ghanaian film producer and director, Shirley Frimpong Manso, has once again proven her prowess in the movie industry with her latest project.
The director recently announced that she was back on set with a fresh cast and crew, many of whom were newcomers to the industry. After auditions and production, the final result has been described as nothing short of incredible.
The film, titled ‘Two of a Kind’, had its first premiere on Friday, 29th November 2024, in select cinemas in the UK, including the prestigious Odeon Imax Cinemas in London.
The movie features a star-studded cast, including Rita Dominic, Gloria Sarfo, and Akrobeto Akwasi Boadi, among others.
Speaking at the premiere, Shirley Frimpong Manso stressed the importance of quality storytelling and the need to discover and nurture new talent in order to sustain the growth of the movie industry.
‘Two of a Kind’ follows the story of a resort owner, played by Rita Dominic, who is faced with personal grief while trying to salvage the troubled marriage of a young couple celebrating their anniversary at her resort.
The cast members expressed their excitement to be part of such a project and urged other filmmakers to continue pushing boundaries for the advancement of the Ghanaian and African movie industries.
Directed by Shirley Frimpong Manso and produced by Ken Attoh, ‘Two of a Kind’ is set to premiere in Ghana at Silverbird Cinemas in West Hills Mall and Accra Mall starting from Friday, 20th December 2024, following the success of its UK premiere.
