Actress Olivia Hussey, best known for her iconic role as Juliet in the 1968 film version of Romeo and Juliet, has passed away at the age of 73.
The Argentine-born actress, who later moved to London, died on Friday surrounded by her family, according to a statement posted on her Instagram.
Hussey rose to fame at a young age for her portrayal of Juliet in the classic Shakespearean adaptation, earning her the Best New Actress Golden Globe award.
However, in later years, she filed a lawsuit against Paramount Pictures for sexual abuse, as she was only 15 years old when she filmed a nude scene for the movie.
Aside from her role in Romeo and Juliet, Hussey is also remembered for her portrayal of Mary, the mother of Jesus, in the 1977 TV miniseries Jesus of Nazareth.
