Ghanaian actress Ebi Bright, who recently won the Tema Central seat in the parliamentary elections, has revealed the challenges she faced in pursuing a career in politics.

Despite being a career diplomat, Ebi was dismissed and mocked for her political ambitions during her campaign.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Ebi shared that she was ridiculed and told that politics was not suitable for someone from a “Cantata” background like herself.

Despite facing criticism and doubts from others, Ebi remained determined and persevered in her political aspirations.

Ebi’s victory in the Tema Central seat, which is traditionally a stronghold for the ruling NPP party, is a significant milestone for her. She expressed her commitment to serving the interests of the people of Tema Central beyond partisan politics.

The actress-turned-politician highlighted the importance of breaking barriers and challenging stereotypes in the pursuit of one’s goals.
