Nollywood actress Ini Edo has opened up about her struggle with infertility, revealing that she had to turn to surrogacy after facing challenges with carrying pregnancies.
In a recent episode of the reality TV series Young, Famous & African, the 42-year-old actress shared her journey and the impact it had on her life.
Ini Edo explained that she had hoped to start a family by the age of 31 when she got married at 26.
However, she faced difficulties with fertility that persisted throughout her marriage. Despite the setbacks, she remained determined to become a mother.
“I never thought I would have fertility issues, but I faced challenges with carrying pregnancies long-term. When it seemed like my dream of motherhood may not come true, I decided to explore the option of surrogacy,” Ini Edo said.
The actress opted for surrogacy in 2023 to fulfill her desire to become a mother, a decision she initially hesitated to share publicly.
Ini Edo was previously married to US-based businessman Philip Ehiagwina in 2008, but the marriage ended in divorce in 2014.
