Actress Gloria Sarfo has disclosed how some movie producers sideline her because of her role in the local series, ‘Efiewura’.

Gloria explained that at a point in her career, she was perceived as unable to express herself in English due to her active role in the local series, ‘Efiewura.’

She said this perception affected her chances to be starred in some movies and be used as a headline actress in promos despite being the lead actress in the movie.

“Before I used to get worried, I used to talk a lot. Before I had a tag about the Efiewura I was doing so people I thought I couldn’t even express myself in the English Language so everything was about I am a local actress because of Efiewura.

“Someone told me that because of my active role in Efiewura, I may not be able to feature as a wealthy man’s daughter in any glamour movie,” she said on The Ladies Circle on TV3, May 4.

According to her, contrary to the perception, it was her vibrancy in speaking the Twi language in movies that earned her the Best Supporting Actress award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) in March 2020.
