Award-winning actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were tragically found dead at their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Gene Hackman’s illustrious career, spanning over six decades, saw him receive two Academy Awards, two Baftas, four Golden Globes, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office released a statement confirming the couple’s passing, stating, “We can confirm that both Gene Hackman and his wife were found deceased Wednesday afternoon at their residence on Sunset Trail. This is an active investigation, but at this time, foul play is not suspected.”
Gene Hackman, known for his iconic roles in films such as “The French Connection” and “Unforgiven,” won two Best Actor Oscars during his career.
Sheriff Adan Mendoza revealed that the couple, along with their dog, were found deceased, with no signs of foul play evident. Gene Hackman was 95 years old, while his wife, Betsy Arakawa, was 63.
While the cause of their deaths remains unknown, Sheriff Mendoza assured the public that a thorough investigation is ongoing.
