Excitement is brewing as the 10th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards approaches, with the announcement of this year’s nominees in various award categories. The nominees were unveiled on all Africa Magic channels, generating a buzz among fans all over the continent.
Scheduled to take place on the 10th and 11th of May, the awards ceremony will honor excellence in African film and television. Busola Tejumola, the executive head of Content and Channels, West Africa at MultiChoice, praised the outstanding quality of entries received this year. The jury had a tough task shortlisting the nominees, resulting in an exceptional lineup that showcases the diversity and creativity in African cinema and television.
This year, the performance awards have been streamlined into categories for Best Actor and Best Actress in leading or supporting roles. The awards now include 27 categories, with 16 non-voting, nine audience voting categories, and two recognition awards for Lifetime Achievement and Trailblazer. The non-voting categories will be decided by the AMVCA panel of judges led by renowned filmmaker Femi Odugbemi.
Fans have until 28th April to vote for their favorite talents and honor the exceptional work showcased throughout the year. The voting process is open on the Africa Magic website.
