1994 year group of  Zion College, Anloga launches 30 years of excellence and alumni unity

The 1994 year group of Zion College, Anloga in the Volta Region, recently commemorated their 30th-anniversary celebration under the theme “30 Years of Excellence: Building a Stronger Alumni to Support Our Alma Mater.” The event brought together former classmates from across the globe to celebrate their shared experiences and accomplishments.

The festivities began with a vibrant opening ceremony attended by distinguished alumni, current students, faculty members, and honoured guests. Jonathan Azasoo, a prominent member of the 1982 year group, delivered an inspiring keynote address, reflecting on the pivotal role Zion College played in shaping their lives and the importance of giving back to the institution that nurtured them.

Throughout the anniversary celebration, attendees participated in a series of engaging activities designed to reignite cherished memories and strengthen connections. Alumni shared anecdotes of their time at Zion College, reminiscing about unforgettable moments in the classroom, on the sports field, and during extracurricular activities.

Chairman of the 1994 planning committee, Godsway Adenyo, expressed gratitude for the enduring friendships and invaluable lessons he gained from his alma mater. He urged all old students to join hands together in giving back to their alma mater.

In addition to fostering alumni unity, the 30th-anniversary celebration served as a platform to launch various initiatives aimed at supporting Zion College’s ongoing educational endeavours. The Alumni pledged generous donations towards scholarships, infrastructure development projects, and academic enrichment programmes, reaffirming their commitment to advancing the institution’s mission of academic excellence and holistic development.

The current Headmistress of Zion College, Nutifafa Abla Kwawukumey, expressed profound appreciation for the unwavering support and generosity of the alumni community. She noted that the management of the school and all stakeholders have a shared responsibility in creating a learning-focused center through a beautiful landscape and structures that attract the youngsters of the 21st century for them to make Zion College their 1st choice during the school selection process.

As the anniversary celebration drew to a close, attendees departed with a renewed sense of pride in their alma mater and a shared commitment to fostering a legacy of excellence for generations to come. The 1994 year group of Zion College, Anloga, has not only commemorated three decades of academic achievement and personal growth but has also ignited a beacon of hope for the future, united in their mission to build a stronger alumni community and support their beloved alma mater. National secretary of the Old Students Association of Zico, Gameli Attipoe, who represented the national executives, recounted the memories of being a student of Zion College and the urgent need for all old students to come together and help build their alma mater.
