Joseph Baena, the son of Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, recently opened up about his decision not to use the family name despite his aspirations to follow in his father’s footsteps in the fitness world and acting.
Born to Schwarzenegger and his former housekeeper Mildred Baena during an affair while he was married to Maria Shriver, Joseph shared insights into his relationship with his father.
He described Schwarzenegger as a great father who has been nothing but supportive of his pursuits, including graduating from University, venturing into acting, real estate, bodybuilding, and fitness.
While acknowledging the positive influence of his father in his life, Joseph expressed his desire to carve his own path and pursue his career based on his own merit, determination, and work ethic. Despite the strong bond with Schwarzenegger, he prefers to establish himself independently without relying on the family name.
Reflecting on his childhood and the discovery of his father’s identity, Joseph expressed gratitude for being part of his family and praised both his parents for their love and support. He highlighted the importance of personal growth and self-reliance in his journey towards fulfilling his dreams, which include acting and real estate – childhood passions he shares with Schwarzenegger.
Schwarzenegger, on the other hand, has been vocal about the impact his affair had on his family, admitting his biggest failure was causing pain to his loved ones.
Despite the challenges and heartbreak caused by the revelation of Joseph’s paternity, Schwarzenegger has taken responsibility for his actions and continues to work on rebuilding relationships with his family members.
