Nollywood veteran Hanks Anuku recently shared the challenges he faced due to a misleading viral video that falsely portrayed him as mentally unstable.
The video, which circulated online in 2022, showed Anuku dressed in tattered clothes and talking to himself, creating concerns about his mental well-being.
However, Nollywood actress Shan George came to Anuku’s defense, asserting that he was not mentally unstable.
In an interview with content creator Lucky Udu, Anuku clarified that the video was actually a scene from a movie where he was portraying a mentally unstable character.
Anuku explained that he was deeply immersing himself in the role to deliver an authentic performance as per the director’s vision.
He mentioned that he was meditating and surrounding himself with the environment to get into character for a role that required him to showcase a character not in the right state of mind.
The talented actor emphasized the dedication and commitment required in the acting profession, especially when portraying complex characters.
