Tekno denies reports that he received ₦1bn in royalties from Kizz Daniel’s ‘Buga’

Nigerian music star Tekno refutes claims of receiving N1 billion in royalties from Kizz Daniel for “Buga” collaboration

Tekno has come out to deny rumors circulating that he was paid over N1 billion in royalties by Kizz Daniel for their collaboration on the hit track “Buga.”

Reports had insinuated that Tekno had stated that Kizz Daniel had compensated him with royalties exceeding N1 billion for their joint effort on “Buga.” It was even alleged that Kizz Daniel had shared 50% of the song’s earnings with Tekno.

In response to these allegations, Tekno took to social media to express his frustration, condemning the false interview and wishing ill upon those spreading such misinformation. He boldly stated, “His money isn’t up to that! Anyone spreading that fake interview, may thunder strike your family…#TalkingShit.”

The song “Buga,” released on May 3, 2022, quickly became a massive hit in Nigeria and even gained global recognition as the most Shazamed track upon its launch.
