The 2024 BET Awards are on the horizon, and anticipation is building for another exciting show. Last year’s event marked 50 years of hip-hop and featured memorable tributes to the genre’s pioneers, as well as stunning performances that kept the energy high throughout the night.
This year, the BET Awards will once again be hosted by the talented and Oscar-nominated actor, Taraji P. Henson. Henson expressed her excitement about hosting the show for the third time and is looking forward to celebrating the cultural impact of entertainment.
The event is scheduled to take place on June 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The lineup of nominees is impressive, with Drake leading the pack with seven nominations, including album of the year for his latest release, “For All the Dogs.” Nicki Minaj follows closely behind with six nominations, including for her album “Pink Friday 2.”
Other notable nominees include J. Cole, Sexyy Red, SZA, and Victoria Monét, all tied with five nods each. Usher, fresh off a show-stopping performance at the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show, will also receive a prestigious lifetime achievement award.
In addition to the music categories, the BET Awards will also recognize excellence in film and sports. The lineup of performers is equally exciting, with GloRilla, Latto, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, and Monét set to take the stage.
