Renowned Nigerian actress, Rita Dominic, recently opened up about her decision to tie the knot later in life, marrying at the age of 46.
In an interview on Joy FM, she disclosed that her choice was driven by a desire to enter into marriage on her own terms, guided by genuine reasons rather than societal pressures.
“I have always maintained that I will marry the man of my dreams and not the man that society expects me to marry. Because if things go south in the future, I will be the one left to pick up the pieces, not society. I wanted to ensure that I was getting married for the right reasons and not just succumbing to societal pressure,” explained Rita Dominic.
Despite facing societal expectations to marry early, Rita stood firm in her decision to wait for the right time and the right partner. She emphasized the importance of marrying at the right moment with the perfect person.
Earlier this year, Rita Dominic exchanged vows with Fidelis Anosike, the founder of Folio Media Group, in a traditional wedding ceremony in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. The event was graced by a host of celebrities, including industry veterans like Joke Silva and Hilda Dokubo, as well as Uche Jumbo, Ini Edo, Lydia Forson, Mercy Eke, and Nse Ikpe Etim.
The couple later had a private white wedding at Selby Abbey, North Yorkshire, England, in November 2022. Rita Dominic reflected on her marriage as a fulfilling and joyful journey, highlighting how their relationship blossomed from friendship to love and eventually culminated in marriage.
