Grammy-nominated hip hop artist Travis Scott found himself in trouble with the law after a disturbance on a yacht in Miami Beach, Florida.
The 33-year-old was arrested on disorderly intoxication and trespassing charges after police responded to a call about a fight on a yacht at the Miami Beach marina.
According to a police affidavit, officers found Scott standing on the dock yelling at passengers on the vessel. Despite being told to sit down, Scott continuously stood back up, and officers detected a strong smell of alcohol on his breath. The person who made the complaint did not want to press charges but insisted that Scott be removed from the boat.
As Scott was being escorted from the vessel to the boardwalk, he walked backward while yelling obscenities at the occupants of the yacht. Scott briefly left the scene but later returned and attempted to re-board the vessel, resulting in his arrest after he began yelling and creating a disturbance.
In response to his arrest, Scott nonchalantly wrote “Lol” on social media and announced that he would continue his concert tour. Despite this incident, Scott remains known for hits like “Sicko Mode” and has received 10 Grammy nominations in the past.
This latest run-in with the law comes after a tragic event in 2021 at Scott’s Astroworld Festival in Texas, where 10 fans lost their lives and thousands were injured in a crowd surge toward the stage. Scott expressed deep sorrow over the incident in an interview with GQ magazine, stating that he was “overly devastated” by what occurred.
