Singer Brymo has never been one to shy away from controversy or sharing his unfiltered opinions. Despite facing criticism, he continues to boldly express himself through his album titles, track names, and even music video appearances.
In a recent voice note posted on social media, Brymo revealed that he once demanded a sexual relationship from singer Simi in exchange for a music collaboration. This revelation caused quite a stir online, further solidifying Brymo’s reputation as a controversial figure in the Nigerian music industry.
Known for his exceptional vocal talent and hits like “Oleku” and “Ara,” Brymo is unapologetic about his skills and often boasts about being one of the best vocalists in Nigeria, if not Africa.
During a Q&A session on Curiosity Made Me Ask with social media personality Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi, Brymo was asked if he would sign with Davido, Wizkid, or Burna Boy, to which he casually responded, “Don’t worry, I will just go to hell. They need recording deals.”
The 37-year-old artist also shared that he turned down a lucrative offer in 2012 to revive his career, choosing instead to stay true to his art and make meaningful music. Reflecting on his time at Chocolate City with fellow artists MI Abaga, Jesse Jagz, and Ice Prince, Brymo explained that he left the label because he felt his hit songs were not achieving the desired results, prompting him to pursue a solo career focused on creating impactful music.
In a final bold statement, Brymo declared that unlike Burna Boy, who referenced him in his lyrics, he would not be returning the favor in his own songs.
