Hollywood actor Steve Buscemi was attacked and punched in the face while walking in New York City, reported the New York City Police Department (NYPD). The assault, which occurred on Wednesday, is part of a trend of random attacks in the city.
Buscemi’s publicist confirmed the incident, stating that he was assaulted in Mid-Town Manhattan and is okay but saddened by the violence happening in the city. The NYPD responded to the scene at 369 3rd Avenue after receiving a report that a 66-year-old male was punched in the face by an unidentified individual.
The victim was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/ Bellevue for treatment of bruising, swelling, and bleeding to his left eye. The police are currently investigating the incident and have not made any arrests. They described the suspect as a male with a dark complexion wearing dark-colored clothing.
Steve Buscemi, a Brooklyn native, is well-known for his roles in films like “Reservoir Dogs” and “Fargo,” as well as TV series such as “Boardwalk Empire” and “30 Rock.” The police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect involved in the assault.
