Nollywood icon Yul Edochie recently disclosed the reason behind his absence from the funeral of his late colleague actor Jnr Pope.
The 43-year-old actor tragically passed away, along with four others, on April 10 after their boat capsized in the Anam River while returning from a movie shoot. The burial service took place at St. Peter’s Catholic Parish, Ukehe, in Enugu State on Friday, May 17, 2024.
Despite the presence of many Nigerian actors and celebrities at Jnr Pope’s funeral to pay their final respects, Yul Edochie was notably missing. He clarified that he had a hidden conflict with the deceased actor, indicating that their friendship turned sour due to a dispute.
Yul Edochie expressed his feelings by stating, “I didn’t want to say anything until his burial. I know many asked why I wasn’t there. Why I haven’t said anything about it since? I took him like a brother and good friend. I was there for him when he needed me. But he stabbed me in the back, repeatedly.”
Furthermore, the celebrated Nollywood actor hinted that he plans to reveal the complete details of their discord for the benefit of others soon.
