Renowned author, Lawrence Darmani, has a message for young, aspiring writers – do not give up on your craft. Speaking at a virtual event organized by 365Mustang in Accra, the writer stressed the importance of perseverance and dedication in the face of distractions.

In his address at the ‘Unplugged & Reconciled’ event, Darmani emphasized that writing is a responsibility to humanity. He urged unpublished writers to see their gift as a calling and to continue writing despite challenges.

Darmani highlighted the negative impact of distractions, such as social media and daily responsibilities, on writers. He encouraged writers to prioritize their craft and treat writing as a “jealous skill” that requires time and consistency.

The veteran writer’s advice to young writers is simple – make writing a priority and a distraction against all other distractions. By dedicating time and focus to their craft, writers can overcome challenges and fulfill their responsibilities to themselves and to society.
