John Passidomo, a prominent Florida lawyer, who had a successful law career alongside his wife, Florida Senate President Kathleen Passidomo, passed away at the age of 72 on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
John and Kathleen Passidomo first met during law school in New Jersey and later relocated to Naples, Florida.
The couple would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in September 2024 and had three daughters together.
John Passidomo also served as the President of the Collier County Bar Association and was a city council member and vice mayor of Naples from 1990 to 1992.
Former state Senator Garrett Richter described John and Kathleen Passidomo as some of the finest people to walk among their community, highlighting John’s cheerful personality and his ability to bring happiness to others.
Tragically, John Passidomo passed away from injuries sustained during a fall while hiking along a Utah trail on Monday, April 1. Despite efforts from medical teams, he could not survive the severe injuries and passed away peacefully with his wife and daughters by his side.
Kathleen Passidomo, a lawyer and politician, was devastated by the sudden and unexpected accident that took the love of her life.
She is a Republican who has represented the 28th district in the Florida Senate since 2016 and has served as president since 2022.
Kathleen was the second woman to practice law in Collier County and has had a successful career in politics, winning a Florida House seat in 2010 before being elected to the Senate.
She is grieving the loss of her husband and facing immense sorrow following this tragic event.
