Houston lawyer Jeffrey Limmer tragically lost his life on May 4, 2024, after being shot and killed at a McDonald’s in West Houston.
The 46-year-old attorney worked as an associate at the Houston office of Lewis Brisbois, where he was part of the General Liability Practice and had experience in personal injury, insurance coverage, and premises liability.
Limner, a graduate of the South Texas College of Law and the University of Texas at Austin, was known for his love of the outdoors, including skiing, fishing, hunting, running, and biking.
Described as a brave and compassionate individual, Limner attempted to deescalate a situation at the McDonald’s when another customer became angry with employees, but tragically lost his life in the process.
The gunman, who has not yet been apprehended, shot Limner before fleeing the scene in a blue Ford pick-up truck. Limner’s friends and family have spoken highly of him, remembering him as a kind, loving, and fiercely loyal individual.
With a strong sense of faith and a dedication to helping others, Limner’s loved ones are devastated by his untimely death but proud of his brave actions in trying to calm a volatile situation.
His sister, Jennifer Thomas, described Limner as always laughing, making jokes, and loving life, while his friend Greg Monteverde reflected on Limner’s kindness and willingness to stand up for what he believed was right.
The community mourns the loss of a beloved lawyer and friend, but celebrates the legacy of bravery and compassion that Limner leaves behind.
